About MBCWA (Mountain Bike Coaching WA)

Mountain Bike Coaching WA is comprised of two PMBIA instructor/coaches, one level three and a level one.

The PMBIA accreditation means that Tim and Mat are prepared to deliver a wide selection of mountain bike skills and instruction topics, with a practical understanding of riding skills to develop clients to be better and safer riders.

Here are a few more details about us:

  • Started life in 2017 as Tim Neve – MTB Coach, in 2020 the business name changed to Mountain Bike Coaching WA. With a growing client and events list another coach was required with Ross joining Mountain Bike Coaching WA in early 2021.
  • We have provided overarching guidance to session design and coaching structure at events such as WA Gravity Girls Trail Bliss, school camps and other programs.
  • We currently provide coaching sessions and programs to the public, private organisations, local government and corporate clients in numerous locations throughout Western Australia on both public and private venues.
  • We deliver our services at locations such as Booyeembara Mountain Bike Park, Boddington pump track, Dianella open space, The Goat Farm MTB Park, Linga Longa Bike Park, The Kalamunda Circuit and The Pemberton Mountain Bike Park to name a few.

TIM

PMBIA Level 3

I moved to Perth in 2004, where I became heavily involved in mountain biking, specifically freeriding and downhill racing.

In my early days of getting into riding I spent a lot of time street riding and just riding for fun, with the odd race thrown in over the years while working away.

I enjoy riding proper downhill trails, dirt jumps, pump tracks and street trials.

I am proud to have taken the overall win for the 2021 downhill season in masters 1/2 as I generally do not consider myself to be a 'racer'.

In 2021 I also completed the Cape to Cape.
In 2023 I won the pump track state championships for masters 3/4.

I also run a Youtube channel @mountainbikecoachingwa with the plan to record and showcase sanctioned trail networks, dirt jumps and pump tracks (You should definitely check it out, and subscribe!).

I am pretty proud to have completed PMBIAs Level 1, Level 2 Tech & Air and kids modules and in December of 2022 i became the first level 3 PMBIA instructor and coach in Western Australia.

If you see me out on the trails pop over and say g'day, or maybe I'll see you in one of our sessions.

Cheers, Tim

MAT

PMBIA Level 1

Hi my name is Mathew Williams. I grew up in the SW and currently live in the SW with my wife and two daughters.

I’ve always enjoyed riding and started mountain biking with my brother in 2017.

My favourite riding is downhill, cyclocross, street riding and marathons with some pump track riding thrown in to show off to the kids - actually I like all riding! I’ve completed Cape to Cape 3 times and 3 seasons of XCM.

I ride because I enjoy the challenge and the mateship. Riding with others teaches you it’s not always about you but the rider next to you.

I’m proud to have completed the PMBIA level 1 coaching certificate. I’m really looking forward to working alongside Tim and encouraging more riders onto the trails.

If you see me out on the trails, I’ll be the old guy jumping anything I can - come say hello.
